How you can help
There are so many different ways to help based on your skills and interests. Your availability will be a strong driver too, for what role you may be able to undertake.
At the ADSHG we are keen to involve as many people as possible, but we are not always able to offer volunteer roles that match your requirements - we’ll certainly do our best though. Below we give you a bit more information and tell you how you can get in touch to tell us a little bit more about yourself, and your hopes.
Different ways to volunteer - what suits you?
There are so many different ways to get involved, and we aim to find something that you have the passion for, as well as the appropriate skills and experience.
"We had a full house on a November afternoon, welcomed many old friends, and were delighted to meet a newly diagnosed member. These meetings are so important - whether newly diagnosed or living with Addison’s for years, we all learn so much from each other.
I feel so lucky to be part of such a welcoming group, sharing laughter, delicious cakes, and tips for managing Addison’s disease."Meet-up host, Jan
Our volunteer charter
There are so many different ways to get involved, and we aim to find something that you have the passion for, as well as the appropriate skills and experience.
- Volunteering should be fun!
- Volunteering is a great opportunity to improve your understanding about what the charity does, how, and to offer your feedback.
- Volunteering should be rewarding and satisfying. Meet new people, make new friends, change the world!
- Volunteering is unpaid, however the ADSHG will reimburse out-of-pocket expenses in line with our expenses policy.
- Volunteers are fully supported. We will help you share existing skills – and develop new skills, too.

The volunteering process
