It covers primary, secondary and tertiary adrenal insufficiency, with a strong focus on preventing adrenal crises, optimising long-term treatment, and supporting patients to manage their condition safely and effectively.

The Society for Endocrinology's Adrenal Crisis guidance provides practical, emergency-focused advice for healthcare professionals on recognising and treating adrenal crisis, a life-threatening complication of adrenal insufficiency. The guidance emphasises that treatment should never be delayed when adrenal crisis is suspected, and outlines immediate management steps, including emergency hydrocortisone administration and rapid fluid replacement.
